If you’re looking for an awesome, water-filled outing with the family, take a trip to Volente Beach Resort just a short drive from Central Austin on Lake Travis.
This waterpark is small — and wonderful — and uses lake water for its pools and waterslides. They have a great restaurant, Beachside Billy’s, and a little market where you can buy pool and beach day toys and souvenirs, as well as treats. We think it’s the perfect staycation day for families, and our kids think it’s the best place ever. We’re always happy to take them because they’re thoroughly entertained and we get to relax in a lounge chair with a full view of everything they’re up to.
Volente also has lifeguards at their pools and waterslides and we love the easily accessible amenities that are essential for enjoying a day out with kids. We’ve already been a few times this summer, and it’s never been crowded, which means no wait time for waterslides. They are closed on Mondays, so keep that in mind while planning your adventure.
