Sure, Austin kids might be back to school, but summery fun hasn’t ended over at NLand Surf Park! NLand and Boneshaker Project are partnering this fall to host Weekend Waveshakers — Saturday surf clinics for kids ages 8-13 from September 9th through October 28th.
Kids can enroll in Saturday surf clinics that offer three hours of fun from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. with local athlete speakers, activities and games, lunch, 30 minutes of dry land surf instruction, and 50 minutes of surfing led by an NLand surf coach.
“It’s amazing to see kids who have never surfed, stand up on their boards during that first coaching session. The consistency of the waves at NLand makes for the perfect environment to teach surfing, and share the stoke with a whole new generation of surfers in Central Texas,” says Alex Ecenia, Executive Director at Boneshaker Project.
Each weekend, Boneshaker will spotlight a local Austin athlete or fitness professional who will speak, demo their skills and share their passion with Waveshakers. Engaging activities could include hula hooping, boxing, BMX, and more.
Weekend Waveshaker sessions will be held from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on the following dates:
- September 9, 16, 23, 30
- October 7, 14, 21, 28
Pricing per participant is $150 for a single Saturday, $250 (save $50) for two Saturdays, $375 (save $75) for three Saturdays, and $500 (save $100) for four Saturdays.
