In addition to their three mainstay centers on Slaughter Lane, in Round Rock, and on North Lamar, We Are Blood hosts weekly mobile blood drives. Appointments and face masks are mandatory. As an incentive, blood donors can expect special giveaways throughout the month of October from community partners, such as vouchers for free stuff from local favorites like Whataburger. Eligible donors are in good health, at least 17 years old, and weigh at least 115 pounds (for whole blood donations) or 110 pounds (for platelet donations).

The American Red Cross holds multiple drives each month for you to donate blood or plasma. You must be at least 16 years of age, among other requirements. The donation only takes about 8-10 minutes. As an incentive, five lucky blood donors will get a $1,000 Amazon.com Gift Card for donating in October. They have upcoming drives around the city like the Drury Inn & Suites and the Riverbend Church.

You can donate blood and plasma at BioLife Plasma where your donation will be transformed into life-saving plasma-based therapies. In an attempt to minimize any COVID-19 risk, you will make an appointment, where a mask, and maintain distance from other people donating plasma. You’ll be compensated for your plasma donation.
