We can hardly contain our excitement about ZACH Theatre‘s big mainstage summer musical — Disney’s Beauty and the Beast! One of Austin’s most vibrant performing arts organizations, ZACH Theatre is known to entertain audiences of all ages, but there’s something most thrilling about the fact that their huge summer production will be a family-friendly Broadway hit. Beauty and the Beast kicks off on July 11 and runs through September 2, and we can’t wait for this “tale as old as time”!
With the same story and music from the Disney film that we all adore, this show follows Belle, a book-smart and adventurous young woman and Beast, a formerly dashing young prince cursed by an enchantress. The show includes all the characters inside the castle, including Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and Chip. The Broadway smash hit showcases an award-winning score with such favorites as “Beauty and the Beast,” “Gaston,” and “Be Our Guest.”
This delightful family musical will delight all generations, but because the show is two hours and 40 minutes (including one intermission) it is recommended for ages six and up.
The show runs from July 11 through September 2 at 7:30 p.m. with weekend matinees at 2:30 p.m. and includes the following scheduled special events:
- Pride Night: Thursday, July 12
- ASL Interpreted, Audio Described, and Open Captioned: Wednesday, July 18
- Post-Show Discussion: Wednesday, July 18
- Champagne Opening: Thursday, July 19
