— You and the kids can enjoy an afternoon of free fun on their day off of school at the Neill-Cochran House Museum‘s Easter Egg Dye-o-Rama. Families with children of all ages are invited to attend from noon – 4 p.m. to dye their own Easter eggs, play games on grounds, and explore the museum in a playful, less-formal environment. Free! If your kids (ages 8 and up) are interested in signing up for a workshop to learn the traditional Eastern European pysanka egg dying technique while at the museum, you can click here for more info.

— Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages… Circus science is coming to the Thinkery during their Family Night event, Under the Big Red Box. You can enjoy this special after-hours party atmosphere from 6:30-8:30 p.m. with aerial acrobatics, hula hooping, face painting, chemistry, bunnies and more!  You can purchase your tickets for Family Night at the Thinkery online here. The cost is $15 Adult/Child or $13 Member Adult/Child. Children age 2 and under are free.

— Bring your family and friends to Hat Creek Burgers Company’s Westlake location from 5-8 p.m. for Do512 Family Fun Night! Kids will get to meet the Easter Bunny, enjoy a petting zoo and have a blast on the playground. Parents can enjoy live music, beer tastings, samples from Hat Creek Pickle Co., savings of half off on all kids Lunchboxes — and simply kick back and enjoy a night of good food and fun times. — Get carried away at the annual Balloons Over Horseshoe Bay event at the Horseshoe Bay Resort today from 6:30 a.m. – 10 p.m. You’ll get to see an amazing assortment of hot air balloons (including GLOWING balloons), listen to live music from Sunny Sweeney, watch sky divers and powered parachutes, enjoy hayrides and a whole lot more! Today’s events are open to the public with Day Passes for $20 per person. Kid ages 12 and under are FREE (limit 2 free children admitted per accompanying parent). — Get ready for some extreme cuteness when costumed pups parade down South Congress during Jo’s 16th Annual Lyndon Lambert Memorial Pet Parade and Costume Contest that benefits Austin Pets Alive. The Dead Music Capital Band will lead the parade full of pups starting at noon on the corner of Annie St. and South Congress and end at Jo’s Coffee. There will be lots of free activities for the whole family including a bouncy house, local vendors, the Easter Bunny, cotton candy and music from the Andrew Nafziger Trio.

— Bring the kids to Hancock Recreation Center for Hop-A-Palooza from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Join friends and neighbors at this annual community Easter egg hunt where kids can also enjoy face painting, food, crafts, carnival games and meet the Easter Bunny. Don’t forget to bring your own Easter basket and your camera for photos with the Easter Bunny. This event is free and open to all.

—  Check out the 7th Annual Funky Chicken Coop Tour for some great ideas about keeping chickens in your own backyard. You can begin the day as early as 8:15 a.m. with a stop by Coop Tour Headquarters at Sunshine Community Gardens for free events including classes, educational booths, a chicken puppet show for kids and more. Then you can take your own self-guided tour of coops around Austin from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tickets will be $10/person on tour day. Children 12 and under are free! — You’ll love the The Three Little Pigs at ZACH Theatre, playing today at 11 a.m and 2 p.m. It’s a “Great Big Little Broadway Show” that’s perfect for ages 3 and up. Youth tickets are $15 & adult tickets are $20. Tickets can be purchased online here. Plus, Fry’s Fun Farm will be hosting a Petting Zoo on the People’s Plaza so you can pet piggies before the show. — On Easter Sunday, Apr. 5, expect to have lots of fun at HOPE Farmers Market’s HOPE-y Easter Party from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Plaza Saltillo! Kids can dye eggs and go on an Easter treasure hunt. The whole family can enjoy live music, market shopping and a clothes swap.

— It’s your last chance to see Jack and the Beanstalk at the Scottish Rite Theater today! Showtimes are at 12:30 p.m and 2:30 p.m with a golden egg hunt before each show! Live music, puppets, and lots of action make this the perfect production for young kids. Tickets are $6 for children 12 and under, and $10 for ages 13 and up.
