In celebration of National Health Center Week (August 4–10), CommUnityCare Health Centers is hosting three free back-to-school events to help Central Texas families get ready for the new school year! Kids ages 3–18 can receive free immunizations, backpacks, school supplies, paletas, and more. Plus, you’ll find tons of helpful community resources and fun along the way.
Important: Registration is required for both immunizations and backpacks, and spots are limited—so don’t wait!
Back to School Giveaway @ The Millennium Youth Entertainment Complex
Saturday, Aug. 9 | 10 am – 4 pm | First come, first served
Start your school season on the right foot with this free community event for families. Kids receive backpacks and school supplies (first come, first served), while parents can connect with local organizations offering health services, tutoring, after-school programs, and even bike and helmet giveaways from APD Operation Blue Santa. Back to School Craft and Vendor Market @ Fareground

Back To School Splash @ Goldfish Swim School – Northwest Hills
Sunday, August 17 | 3 pm – 6 pm | FREE with RSVP
Celebrate the start of the school year with a splashtastic afternoon at Goldfish Swim School’s Back-to-School Splash! event. Kids and families can enjoy pool time, a bounce house, crafts, and games—all included with free tickets. Don’t forget swimsuits, towels, and a big smile for the pool! RSVP here.
Fresh Start Back to School @ Travis County Sheriff’s Office
Saturday, August 17 | 1 pm – 3 pm | First come, first served
Travis County Sheriff’s Office is hosting its annual Fresh Start Back-to-School Drive-Thru, providing free backpacks and school supplies to K–12 students. Supplies are limited to the first 100 students and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Just drive up during the event time to participate.
