Behind The Scenes at ZACH Theatre’s Pinocchio

Theatre is so magical, and Zach Scott’s production of Pinocchio is nothing short of that. I was happy to chat with Natt Miller, Zach Scott Theatre’s Educational Director, briefly during the rehearsal and give him my feedback on the show. He was gracious enough to respond to several follow-up questions about the elements of the production that I found most magical.

SpringFest at The Backyard in Bee Cave

If you haven’t had a chance to check out Springfest at The Backyard in Bee Cave, this is the year to do it! There will be live music, a boat expo, rides and other activities for the kids, beer and wine tasting, a BBQ cook-off, and artisan shopping. The seventh annual festival has made it even easier this year to get in on the fun by including events on the evening of Friday, April 25 in addition to a full day of festivities on Saturday, April 26.

Austin Parks: Red Bud Isle

Red Bud Isle may be more familiar to dog lovers than parents, but the small peninsula offers beautiful views and freedom for all. It is an ideal setting for children to walk their own dog without too much oversight. Red Bud Isle is a wonderful place to see wildlife, from Great Blue Herons and American Coots to squirrels and turtles outwitting the canine crowd.

On Thursday, Apr. 17 starting at 7:15 pm, join the Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department in Old Settlers Park for its annual Flashlight Egg Hunt. Let your flashlight be your guide to candy, eggs and prizes and then stay for a movie in the park featuring the family movie The Rise of the Guardians. Looking for a fun summer camp option for your future star? The Hideout Theatre will keep them laughing while they learn at camps that teach the basics of improv, story telling, and stagecraft. The half and full day camps for kids ages 5 – 8, 8 – 13, and high school students offer days filled with games, stories, performance, crafts, and an all around good time before culminating in a performance for friends in family on the final day.
