During Winter Break, the Bullock Museum is offering some cool hands-on workshops for kids ages 6 and up where they can make and take their own artifacts! The workshops are free with regular museum admission. Each workshop lasts about 40 minutes and features a short talk followed by hands-on art making fun. Check out the schedule below.
“Create Your Own” Kids Workshops:
–> Monday, Dec. 28: Fantastic Fossils
Workshops offered: 11 – 11:45 a.m. & 1-1:45 p.m.
Rocks tell the story of Texas before humans were around. Learn about the ancient animals that once called Texas home and make your own fossil model to take home.
–> Tuesday, Dec. 29: Historic Writing Kit
Workshops offered: 11 – 11:45 a.m. & 1-1:45 p.m.
How did people write letters in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries with few supplies from the store? They made their own. In this workshop, you will make your own writing kit to take home.
–> Wednesday, Dec. 30: La Belle Artifacts
Workshops offered: 11 – 11:45 a.m. & 1-1:45 p.m.
Archaeologists uncovered almost two million artifacts on the ship La Belle. Learn about some of the most notable and make your own versions of some of the shipwreck’s most famous artifacts.
Museum Admission: $10 for adults, $8 for kids ages 4-17
