As the start of the school year begins with virtual learning, the Extend-A-Care YMCA is offering supervised, full-day child care at 10 area locations to support online instruction and to provide a needed solution for many working parents.

The Extend-A-Care YMCA will offer a safe environment for students ages 4 to 12 to complete their online instruction while providing them the opportunity to socialize in small, appropriately spaced groups and participate in daily fitness and enrichment activities.

“Our Youth Development Leaders will provide support so students can stay connected with their classroom teachers and engaged with their daily assignments. We’ve been running in-person child care for essential workers as well as summer camps for the past four months, and we’ve learned how to keep kids safe through social distancing and safety protocols while giving them a fun, enriching experience.” –Dr. Joan Altobelli, YMCA of Austin Vice President of Licensed Child Care Services
