How would your children like to make movies this summer? From writing to directing to being the star of the show — Film Kids Summer Camp provides a fun, hands-on opportunity for 10-13 year-olds.

Film Kids is a hands-on, student-driven filmmaking program that encourages creativity, collaboration and critical thinking skills. Campers pitch original story ideas and participate in every aspect of movie-making over one-week sessions to see their ideas come to life!  All equipment is provided and afterwards, campers get digital copies of all their films.

Some of our own Do512 Family kiddos attended Film Kids Camp last year, and begged to go back this year! Not only did they have a blast collaborating with new friends, they were so proud of their accomplishment and eager to show off their completed films to friends and family.

You can sign up for one week or more from June 3rd – August 9th. One-week sessions are held in central Austin at Rosedale Baptist Church (4400 Maybelle Ave) from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Camp costs $360 per camper and to register you can simply fill out this form with your preferred weeks and email it to [email protected]. Tuition will be collected on the first day of camp.

Want to see some examples of kid-created films? Visit www.filmkids.org where you will find several short movies, read what parents are saying about the program, and get more information.

We hope your creative kiddos make some great films and some great memories at camp this summer!
