If you know a teen who’s interested in art, film, or technology, this one’s for you. The City of Austin and Austin Parks and Recreation Foundation have another amazing season of free art classes for teens around the city. The Totally Cool Totally Art program has offered free classes from professionals all over Austin since 1996, and has some amazing unique experiences lined up!

This year’s classes include The Art of Machine: an introduction to technology and engineering, Urban Art: exploring street art and cultural expression, Metal Smithing: learn the basics of metal working, and Short Film: create a short film from beginning to end.

The classes are created for 7th-12th graders to give students not only a creative outlet, but a place to go after school to hang out in a safe environment with great mentors. The classes run in four sessions until April and take place at various times between 5-8 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
