Making a true commitment to fitness goals means you’ve got to find a way to fit those workouts into your routine. As a parent, trying to work out around the kids’ schedules can be challenging. Thankfully, some great local gyms offer childcare. Here are some places where you can drop the kids off in safe, caring hands and focus on you while you work out.


LA Fitness
With four Austin locations, check out LA Fitness for its wide range of amenities, workout equipment, classes, personal training, and Kids’ Klub.  Check here for the LA Fitness closest to you.


Fitness Connection
This spacious gym with high-end equipment and boutique classes also offers a kids’ club.  While you work out, your kids between the ages of 3-11 can enjoy a large group play area with a mini movie theater, tablet stations, and a homework/craft area, all staffed by friendly, well-trained attendants.  Fitness Connection has two locations in the Austin Area and you can get more info here.

Babysitting services are available to Austin’s Jewish Community Center Members while they are in the Sports & Fitness Facility. The Babysitting Room is open to children aged 3 months to 8 years and costs $10 per hour, a two-hour maximum.  The JCC Fitness Center has tennis courts, pilates, cardio and weight lifting, classes, and more.  Get more info here.

Life Time Kids provides your kids with various healthy activities while you work out and throughout the year. The Child Center offers a selection of healthy games and classes for children ages 3 months to 11 years as well as swimming, tennis, martial arts, and other sports programs. Life Time Kids also offers birthday parties, camps, Parents’ Night Out, and more. Life Time has four locations in Austin and you can see which is closest to you here.

From personal fitness to group exercise to youth sports and senior aquatics, the YMCA helps you get mentally, spiritually, and physically fit by providing support and encouragement throughout your workout while also emphasizing our character development values. Their Child Watch services are free for members, but hours & ages vary between the eight area locations (and is not available at YMCA Camp Moody).
