You and the kids can join the Alamo Drafthouse to celebrate the opening of Pixar’s new film, Inside Out! The Inside Out Sweet Emotions Party is a family event where you can feel ALL the feelings, but especially JOY! This party will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 20 at Alamo Drafthouse Slaughter Lane, as well as on Sunday, June 21, Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28 at the Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline. At the party you’ll also get to enjoy activities in the theater before the show and purchase themed food specials (hint: you may experience a brain freeze at some point).
Named one of the top ten films at the Cannes Film Festival, INSIDE OUT is being heralded as Pixar’s best film to date.
–> About the Movie: Do you ever look at someone and wonder what is going on inside their head? Get ready to feel ALL your feelings as we venture inside 11-year-old Riley’s head. We all know that Pixar can pull our heartstrings about themes of growing up and dealing with life changes, and INSIDE OUT is no exception.
Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school. Rated PG.
