Parents, if you’re struggling with how to manage your kids’ screen time or feeling like you need to get a better handle on your family’s use of technology, you can get some great advice at a parent workshop on Tuesday, June 23 at 7 p.m. to learn all about the Slow Technology Movement. Slow Family Living and Outside Voice are co-hosting a Slow Technology session with Janell Burley Hofmann, author of iRules at Austin Tinkering School East.

irules_bookpreview— Want to get clear on how technology can really work for your family?
— Want to use technology to build creativity and connection?

Janell will talk about a slow approach to technology, that does not eliminate technology but rather helps us find balance as we celebrate all the ways technology enhances our lives.

Janell is on a mission to bring the tech savvy, the tech weary, and generation tech together with genuine guidance to build the modern and mindful Slow Tech Movement. By integrating the Slow Tech Movement into our lives we can find an accessible, easy way to bridge a connection between technology and living with purpose.

After Janell’s talk, Ron Pippin of Outside Voice will show us some of the simple and fun ways he and his family use technology to get creative and stay connected — at home, on the road, or even sitting at a restaurant waiting for their food.
