Started in the late ’90s as an effort to build community engagement, Jump On It Summer Music Festival is not only a concert series but also a true celebration of live entertainment (including hip hop, jazz, and R&B), education, games, and workshops. Coming up at the Travis County Expo Center on Wednesdays from 5:30 – 10 p.m. from June 20 – August 8 (except July 4), this year’s events look to be bigger than ever and include two stages, a huge game zone, and a new educational program called Jump On It University.

While you’ll find an awesome lineup of music including Derez Deshon, Trina, Kirko Bangz, Trae tha Truth and more — community building is this festival’s number one priority. As a non-profit, Jump On It wishes to bring people together of all ages, income and ethnicities and works with other community organizations to promote health awareness and inspiring messages. Admission is FREE before 6:30 p.m. with plenty of affordable ticket options available for nighttime events. To make it easy to attend, there will be a shuttle running from Givens Park from 6- 10:30 p.m. for each event.

With a huge game zone featuring bungees, a rock wall, go-karts, basketball, and much more, kids and teens of all ages can have a blast playing at the Fest. You can even book a birthday party during the Fest! Click here for party package info.

For your teens ages 12 – 17, you can sign them up for the Jump On It University program. These educational summer workshops run on Wednesdays from 12 – 6 p.m. Course topics include financial literacy, “Way to Happiness” curriculum, arts and fun activities, and the program is completely free. You can register online here or call (512) 348-8005 with any questions.
