Do512 Family - What to do in Austin with Kids

Our Favorite Food Trucks for Kids

Austin has so many great food trucks and food truck parks that it’s hard to narrow it down to just a few favorites. When you have kids in tow, it’s nice to have a lineup of food truck options that have kid-friendly staples, as well as delicious items for grown-ups to enjoy as well. Save this list for when you want a casual outing with the family, or for when you have company in town and want to skip a more formal restaurant or cooking at home!

Food Trucks at Meanwhile Brewing

3901 Promontory Point Drive

We love taking the kids to Meanwhile Brewing. There’s a playground, open space for the kids to run and play soccer, libations for grown-ups, and multiple food trucks to satisfy any palette. Our kids love the pizza from Side Eye Pie. Side Eye has kids’ pizzas starting at $14, cheesy breadsticks, fancy chicken wings, and more.

After you’ve had your pizza fix, check on Besame for ice cream. Made fresh every day, this thick and creamy chef-driven ice cream is the treat ice cream should be. We had the mint chip cookie dough last week, and it was SO good.

Meanwhile’s other current food trucks are. Songbird, with fried chicken sandwiches, popcorn chicken, and smash burgers, and Distant Relatives with its pork spare ribs, house sausage links, and more.

Churro Co

1906 S. First St.

Our kids are obsessed with Churro Co’s traditional homemade churros, delicious dipping sauces, and special concoctions, like their Campfire Churros with Vanilla Ice Cream. Churro Co always has seasonal specials and treats in addition to churros as well – you won’t want to miss their hot chocolate! Check out Churro Co’s menu and hours here.
