Check out the new Ashley’s Playhouse, a drop-in childcare center, at their open house on Saturday, February 1 from 1 pm to 5 pm. In addition to getting to tour the facility and test out all their new fun toys (including the Imagination Playground where children can build structures as big as themselves!), they will have food trucks, bounce houses, giveaways, free Amy’s Ice Cream for the first 100 people, and FREE registration during the event.

Austin’s African American Cultural Heritage District for Treasured Places, A Community Gathering

Head to the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center at 1 pm on Saturday, Feb. 1 to learn about Austin’s African American cultural assets at  Austin’s African American Cultural Heritage District (AACHD) for Treasured Places, A Community Gathering. Wander through the district while learning and celebrating the vibrant history of the area, then enjoy food from Hoover’s and tunes from DJ ATX. Participation is free.

Art & Soul Austin Presents: Spring Break Art Camps – Giveaway

Art & Soul Austin will save your sanity and keep your kiddos busy and happy with their Spring Break Art Camps, March 10 – 14 from 9 am – noon each day for kids ages 3 –7 or from 2 – 5 pm for kids 7 – 10. With a mission to “encourage, enhance and explore natural creativity through an art-rich curriculum,” the camps will include drawing, painting, collage, printmaking and sculpture. Cost is $180 per child.
