Texas Parks & Wildlife will stock Mueller’s Lake Park with around 1,200 rainbow trout Sunday, Feb. 2 for the Trout Fishing Event, where you are welcome to keep and cook your bounty. This event will be at the same time as the weekly Mueller Farmers Market and the vendors will offer demos on how to prepare yummy trout dishes and offer complimenting sides.
Gear up and head to Zilker Park on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 10 am for the How Do You Roll? & Lifestyle Revolutions Free Workout in the Park. Get some exercise, free swag and maybe even some sushi gift cards. All you need to bring are tennis shoes, a mat or towel, water or even your kiddos. And it’s all free!
Free drawing classes happen every Saturday in February from 10 am – noon at Elisabet Ney Museum!
The Long Center Presents Peking Acrobats, Sunday, Feb. 9 at 3 pm. Here’s our chance to see the China’s most amazing acrobats without interruption. Who needs a net when you have hundreds of years of tradition and countless hours of practice, preparation and mastery under your belt? Not the Peking Acrobats.
Bricks 4 Kidz Creativity Center (Round Rock) is hosting a FREE Master Builder Play Day Event on Friday, Jan. 31 from 10 am – 8 pm.
Check out the new Ashley’s Playhouse, a drop-in childcare center, at their open house on Saturday, February 1 from 1 pm to 5 pm. In addition to getting to tour the facility and test out all their new fun toys (including the Imagination Playground where children can build structures as big as themselves!), they will have food trucks, bounce houses, giveaways, free Amy’s Ice Cream for the first 100 people, and FREE registration during the event.
Head to the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center at 1 pm on Saturday, Feb. 1 to learn about Austin’s African American cultural assets at Austin’s African American Cultural Heritage District (AACHD) for Treasured Places, A Community Gathering. Wander through the district while learning and celebrating the vibrant history of the area, then enjoy food from Hoover’s and tunes from DJ ATX. Participation is free.
