The Red Poppy Festival kicks off Friday, Apr. 25 in Historic Georgetown and continues through Sunday, Apr. 27. The whole family can enjoy arts, crafts, a parade, a car show, a kids area, food, music and more, and admission is FREE!
If the slogan “Keep Austin Weird” had its own festival, Eeyore’s Birthday would be it. Get weird at Pease Park on Saturday, Apr. 26 from 11 am until dark, the children’s area will be open from 11 am – 4 pm and live music from noon – 6 pm. Admission is FREE! Dress code will be Austin-formal: tutus, bikinis, fairy wings and flip flops. Costumes are encouraged and there will be a contest. Props: hula hoops, bubbles and flower garlands.
Monster Jam comes to Austin this weekend for the first time ever! All the cool girls and car crazy boys are in for what will probably be the best moment of heir young lives ever. It is an ideal setting for children to walk their own dog without too much oversight. Red Bud Isle is a wonderful place to see wildlife, from Great Blue Herons and American Coots to squirrels and turtles outwitting the canine crowd.
