After two cancellations due to inclement weather, the elementary East Austin College Prep campus finally had its open house last Thursday, Feb. 13. Do512 Family editor, Jamie Jett, is an East Austin resident and her curiosity was piqued. So she went to the open house and took some notes to share.
Both East Austin College Prep campuses will be hosting a high-tech open house for Digital Learning Day, Wednesday, Feb. 5. From 9 – 11 am, the school will showcase student-designed games that were created through the Globaloria program. Globaloria is a platform that uses project-based learning and digital methods to teach courses in STEM, computing, game design and coding.
There is a school in East Austin that you may not be familiar with. East Austin College Prep is dedicated to sending 100 percent of its students to college, and it’s a free public school with open enrollment for any child in Travis County! Say whaaat? Exactly.
