The eagerly awaited grand opening of the Luci and Ian Family Garden at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center will take place this Sunday, May 4 from 10 am – 7 pm. There will be a garden discovery quest, special activities throughout the day and live performance by local Austin musicians.
Kid’s Night at Nutty Brown…Can’t beat free music & fun in an atmosphere that is relaxing for the adults and stimulating enough for the kids to keep them up and running long enough to carry on a conversation. Moonwalk, face painting, and balloons by Twistin’ Art, and live music.
If the slogan “Keep Austin Weird” had its own festival, Eeyore’s Birthday would be it. Get weird at Pease Park on Saturday, Apr. 26 from 11 am until dark, the children’s area will be open from 11 am – 4 pm and live music from noon – 6 pm. Admission is FREE! Dress code will be Austin-formal: tutus, bikinis, fairy wings and flip flops. Costumes are encouraged and there will be a contest. Props: hula hoops, bubbles and flower garlands.
Come celebrate Earth Day this Tuesday, April, 22 at the Austin Community College (ACC) Riverside Campus at the Greener Choices Earth Day Festival. WIth spring in full bloom, what better way to celebrate than with live music, workshops, children’s activities all for $5 or 2 canned goods?
On Thursday, Apr. 17 starting at 7:15 pm, join the Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department in Old Settlers Park for its annual Flashlight Egg Hunt. Let your flashlight be your guide to candy, eggs and prizes and then stay for a movie in the park featuring the family movie The Rise of the Guardians. Be sure to look for the golden eggs- they can be redeemed for a special prize basket!
The annual Children’s Picnic and Real Food Festival will be at the French Legation Museum on Sunday, Mar. 30 from 1 – 5 pm. This FREE event is presented by Edible Austin, the SANDE Youth Project and the French Legation Museum.
