Grand Opening- Luci and Ian Family Garden

The eagerly awaited grand opening of the Luci and Ian Family Garden at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center will take place this Sunday, May 4 from 10 am – 7 pm. There will be a garden discovery quest, special activities throughout the day and live performance by local Austin musicians.

Kid’s Night at Nutty Brown…Can’t beat free music & fun in an atmosphere that is relaxing for the adults and stimulating enough for the kids to keep them up and running long enough to carry on a conversation. Moonwalk, face painting, and balloons by Twistin’ Art, and live music.

Eeyore’s 51st Birthday Celebration

If the slogan “Keep Austin Weird” had its own festival, Eeyore’s Birthday would be it. Get weird at Pease Park on Saturday, Apr. 26 from 11 am until dark, the children’s area will be open from 11 am – 4 pm and live music from noon – 6 pm. Admission is FREE! Dress code will be Austin-formal: tutus, bikinis, fairy wings and flip flops. Costumes are encouraged and there will be a contest. Props: hula hoops, bubbles and flower garlands.

Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt & Movie in the Park

On Thursday, Apr. 17 starting at 7:15 pm, join the Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department in Old Settlers Park for its annual Flashlight Egg Hunt. Let your flashlight be your guide to candy, eggs and prizes and then stay for a movie in the park featuring the family movie The Rise of the Guardians. Be sure to look for the golden eggs- they can be redeemed for a special prize basket!

Free Easter Egg Hunt at Abel’s North

Springtime is a great time to explore Austin, partly because the weather is still tolerable, and partly because there are so many great events. On Sunday, Apr. 13, from noon – 5 pm. Abel’s North will be hosting a free Easter Egg Hunt, complete with fun activities for the whole family.

 

Top 10 Austin Family Events 3/21 – 3/23

This weekend is full of dogs performing circus feats, dinosaurs, trains, The Goonies and baseball. There’s a little something for everyone!
