Our kids are super into boba—specifically “Brown Sugar Milk Tea Boba”—and we’ve made it our personal mission to find the best bubble tea in Austin. Sometimes “the best” means it’s yummy and we don’t have to wait in line, and sometimes it just means the shop has a claw machine. Very subjective. Always delicious. Here’s our guide to where to get great boba in Austin.

709 E. Slaughter | 1725 E. Riverside
With two locations right here in Austin, Tea Cup Boba is one of our kids’ faves, and that makes us happy because there’s one just a 12-minute drive for us, and they have all the sugar options (ya’ now, 100 percent sugar, 75 percent, 50 percent, 25 percent). They have all the tea and boba options you can think of and are currently featuring their Strawberry Milk Tea Boba. How refreshing! Check out their IG here.
6501 Airport Blvd. #100
This award-winning Taiwanese tea shop opened its first Austin location in May 2023 and quickly became a favorite for families craving premium boba. Their signature “teaspresso” brewing method brings out bold, aromatic flavors, with customizations like chewy boba, taro balls, and fruit jellies. Bonus: their signature twine cup is totally Instagram-worthy.

— Tsaocaa
North Austin: 13776 Research Blvd #105 | UT Austin: 2222 Rio Grande St c120 | Tech Ridge: 12901 N Interstate Hwy 35 #182
We stumbled across Tsaocaa’s North Austin location after a birthday party at Dart’em Up and were won over instantly. Excellent boba, adorable claw machines, and fun vibes made this a 10/10 for the kids—and a repeat request ever since.

Parmer: 1700 W Parmer Ln Unit 600 | Round Rock: 2800 S IH 35 Frontage Rd | Pflugerville: 1608 Town Center Dr | 99 Ranch Market: 6929 Airport Blvd
We’re regulars at the North location, and even when it’s busy, it’s worth the wait. Their drinks are amazing, and the casual glam aesthetic makes it feel like a treat every time. Our kids are also fans of the fries and the popcorn chicken. And oh, did someone say the North locale has a drive-thru?
