The Cherrywood Art Fair – Saturday, December 7 and Sunday December 8 from 10 am – 5 pm at Maplewood Elementary 

Find gifts from every form of artistic discipline including woodwork, home decor, jewelry and much more. This year’s fair will feature a selection of fine foods from local trailers, and it wouldn’t be an Austin event without a little live music thrown in there. Enjoy performances from Money Chicha, The Painted Redstarts, Kathy and the Kilowatts and more. Free admission!

The Violet Crown Arts Festival – Saturday, December 7 and Sunday, December 8 from 10 am – 5 pm at Triangle Park 

Find quality art from local artists and peruse handmade gifts from sculptors, potters, painters, jewelers, glass artists, woodworkers and metal smiths. Free parking and free admission, with music from Jungle Jill & the Jaybirds, the Dead Music Capital Band and more!

Weihnachtsmarkt – A German Christmas Market – Saturday, December 7 from 10 am – 4 pm at the German Free School

Shoppers can expect to find handmade imported crafts direct from the Erzgebirge region of Germany, as well as find Christmas-themed decorations like nutcrackers and ornaments. Children can see either a historic American Santa Claus or the traditional German Sankt Nikolas who will be bearing gifts for the kiddos. Enjoy hot spiced wine (Glühwein) and plenty of German style baked goods. All purchases are sales tax free!

Holiday Toy Exchange & christmas Shopping Event – Saturday, December 7 at Toybrary Austin from 3 – 7 pm

Drop off your gently-used toys off at Toybrary Austin by Friday, December 6. They will record the number of items you donated and you will be able to take home the same amount during the swap. After the exhcange, stick around for the Christmas shopping event where vendors will be selling gifts and gift certificates. Enjoy a Christmas beverage and some music from 5 – 7 pm.

Austin’s Comic & Toy Show – Saturday, December 7 from 9 am – 5 pm at the Norris Conference Center

Find the coolest vintage toys, comics and collectibles, and have an awesome time searching! There will be a Star Wars parade, artist tables and live drawings, a cosplay and costume contest and you can even get your picture taken with the Austin Batmobile. Admission is $4 for adults, kids 12 and under are free. Check out this coupon for a free comic book!
