Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Get ready for a howling good time at the annual Boo at the Zoo where kids can show off their Halloween costumes while strolling through the Austin Zoo during evening hours. The Zoo will be illuminated and decorated for Halloween, and you can also take an eerie train ride and explore the the spooky mansion. Boo at the Zoo is a special ticketed event that takes place every Friday and Saturday in October from 6:30 – 9 p.m.

Boo at the Zoo is a family-friendly spooktacular event where you can explore the grounds at your leisure while hearing the nightime sounds of the Zoo’s nocturnal animals. Feel free to pack a picnic and dine in the Picnic Grove, or visit the concession truck for a special treat. Kids of all ages can enjoy a trade ride — running every 20 minutes from 7 p.m. – 9  p.m. You can also opt to buy tickets to an additional children’s show for $3 per person that takes place at 6:45 p.m., 7:25 p.m., 8:10 p.m. And please take note that while costumes are encouraged, adults are asked not to wear masks, as to not frighten any of the youngest visitors.Tickets: Get your tickets for Boo at the Zoo by calling 512-288-1490. Reservations are required and the tickets generally sell out each year.  Tickets are $17.50 per person and include a train pass and unlimited visits inside the mansion. Parking is free and carpooling is encouraged.
