Take advantage of free admission and special kid’s programming from 12 – 4 pm at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden for their Family Day. Every first Sunday of the month features fun activities for kids and free entry.

You can Sleep with the Sharks starting this Friday at the Austin Aquarium and even enjoy a little time with Santa as well. Beginning Friday, Dec. 20, the aquarium is offering public sleepovers which includes shark and octopus viewing and feeding and a behind-the-scenes tour of Austin’s newest attraction. In addition, Santa will be making after-hours appearances at all three sleepovers this weekend (Friday, Dec. 20, Saturday Dec. 21 and Sunday, Dec. 22). There will be additional opportunities for public and private sleepovers after this weekend.
Disney Junior Live returns to Austin for one day only with a brand new show–Pirate & Princess Adventure! On Sunday, Dec 22, at Frank Irwin Center at 1 pm, 4 pm and 7 pm, bring your kids out to lose their minds watching Doc McStuffins, Jake and the Neverland Pirates and Princess Sofia the First live, in the cartoon-flesh!
Celebrate the Solstice with the amazing Minor Mishap Marching Band’s Parade of Light! Gather on the shortest day of the year to celebrate light, darkness, music, community, nature and joy. Join the parade on Saturday, Dec. 21. Meet at 5:30 pm at the spiral of the Lamar Pedestrian Bridge, the parade starts at 6 pm.
With just SEVEN shopping days left ’til Christmas, you’d better head down to the Blue Genie Art Bazaar at Marchesa Hall & Theatre for those hard-to-shop-for friends and relatives. Open daily from 10 am – 10 pm (6 pm on Dec. 24), the bazaar features unique wares from more than 140 local artists. Plus, a portion of the proceeds benefit Make-A-Wish® Central & South Texas. Admission and parking are free.
