Groundwork Music Project’s We Write it We Play it

For the past six months, kids from Maplewood and Blackshear Elementary have been working on writing their own songs with the Groundwork Music Project as part of their after school program, We Write it We Play it. On Wednesday, Apr. 30 from 5 – 7 pm, they’ll be performing these songs for the public at the Carver Museum in the We Write it We Play it Concert. Eeyore’s 51st Birthday Celebration

If the slogan “Keep Austin Weird” had its own festival, Eeyore’s Birthday would be it. Get weird at Pease Park on Saturday, Apr. 26 from 11 am until dark, the children’s area will be open from 11 am – 4 pm and live music from noon – 6 pm. Admission is FREE! Dress code will be Austin-formal: tutus, bikinis, fairy wings and flip flops. Costumes are encouraged and there will be a contest. Props: hula hoops, bubbles and flower garlands.

Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt & Movie in the Park

On Thursday, Apr. 17 starting at 7:15 pm, join the Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department in Old Settlers Park for its annual Flashlight Egg Hunt. Let your flashlight be your guide to candy, eggs and prizes and then stay for a movie in the park featuring the family movie The Rise of the Guardians. Be sure to look for the golden eggs- they can be redeemed for a special prize basket!
