— Join the fun at the Metz Recreation Center where families can celebrate Mexico’s Independence Day! Enjoy FREE games, food, door prizes and music. Activities will take place from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., and after the fiesta, you can stick around for a free screening of Rio at 8:15 p.m.

— If you’re in need of children’s clothing, toys, books and baby gear, you can check out the Fairytale Threads Consignment Sale for great prices. — Run, walk or fly to the 2015 CASA Superhero Run where you can be a superhero for children who’ve been abused or neglected. This event starts at 7 a.m. at The Domain and includes a 5K and Kids 1K as well as a superhero costume contest, an obstacle course, bounce house, special superhero guest appearances and lots of special family activities! —  From 12- 5 p.m. today, East 6th Street will be transformed into a car-free playground during the annual VIVA! STREETS community event. This free festival invites you to play, get fit, people watch, and celebrate good health. During the event, one-mile of East 6th Street will become a safe place for families to play. It will also be filled with activities like hula hooping, ping pong, giant chess, jump roping, chalk art, obstacle course, bike polo, a craft area, soccer, basketball, and more.
