National Trails Day takes place on Saturday, June 6, and it’s a great opportunity for you and the family to spend a little time outdoors helping to beautify the Austin trails we love. After the Memorial Day weekend flooding, there are many local trails in need of some TLC. You can help make a difference on the city’s cleanup efforts. Events take place at locations across the city from 8 a.m. – noon, with a Volunteer Appreciation Party immediately afterwards at Roy G. Guerrero Park. Signing up to volunteer is quick and easy thanks to the Austin Parks Foundation website. You can simply click here to view all of the volunteer projects, and sign up for the one that is right for you and your family.

In addition to trail work projects, they are also providing several educational opportunities to take guided hikes at some of Austin’s favorite and hidden trails. Head out and work to improve the trails, or go discover some of Austin’s most beautiful places!
