Cosmic’s South Austin hot spot is the perfect meetup with friends, or to peacefully sit and work. They have an outdoor patio, gardens, cocktails, and coffee, and they’re dog-friendly. If you haven’t been, you’ve gotta go. It’s also a great place to take out-of-town guests for that quintessential Austin vibe. Cosmic is also super sustainability-focused with their chicken coop composting system, and the South location has biological ponds and sustainable water features you can sit by and enjoy. The E. 4th location has a great East Austin vibe with rooftop views of downtown and indoor and outdoor seating.

— Mozart’s Coffee Roasters

Mozart’s has the most gorgeous patio with beautiful trees giving ample shade. It always feels cooler there than anywhere else in the summertime, and warm and cozy indoors when it’s cold. Mozart’s has homemade baked goods, coffee, smoothies, and tons more. It’s the perfect spot to work remotely, take a meeting, or the kids. We can’t say enough good things about Mozart’s, and they have lovely family-friendly events for the community
— Brentwood Social House

A neighborhood favorite in North Central Austin, Brentwood Social House is known for its cozy atmosphere, excellent coffee, and European-inspired baked goods made fresh daily. The menu features savory pies, quiches, croissants, and sweet treats that pair perfectly with a cup of tea or coffee, and they even offer a charming afternoon tea experience. The welcoming space makes it a great place to meet friends, settle in with a laptop, or enjoy a relaxed morning. Families will also appreciate the indoor family room and backyard playscape that give kids space to move while parents sip and stay awhile

All three of their Austin locations are open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. They’re locally owned and sustainability-minded, using only fair-trade, organic coffee beans. Bennu is also known for giving back to the community by partnering with local charities for donations and volunteering. Their grab-and-go lunches and dinners are sourced from local businesses, which you can enjoy either indoors or out, and there’s always plenty of parking.

— Meanwhile Brewing

This brewery and tap room has awesome coffee and espresso, as well as multiple food trucks to nosh from while you hang out at their giant, beautiful property. Meanwhile is a great place to work from, but it’s also super family-friendly (think plenty of space to run and play, as well as a playground) if you want to take the kids. Either way, you can soak up the sunshine while sipping a latte, beer, or wine, and enjoy their top-notch food trucks.

Located off East Riverside, this coffeehouse and bar serves up coffee, food, and spirits. They also boast an array of craft brews from all over the state, and a large selection of rotating infused liquors. You can hang out in the fort or their massive backyard and patio, catch some comedy or live music and play yard games. If you’re looking to catch a buzz — caffeinated or otherwise — head to this lumberjack-themed bar, where wood-chopping skills are recommended but not required.

If the little ones are keeping you from getting a solid night of z’s, you can start to feel human again at Bouldin Creek via their variety of coffee drinks. You can also choose from their solid cocktail and beer selection—all of which pair well with any of the items on their extensive vegetarian menu. This is another great spot for meetings, remote working, or a cozy, delicious time with friends and family.
