It’s hard to tell if our spring weather will last or if we’ll be in for one last bout of winter, but these bright and sunny evenings have us wanting to get out and do fun things with the fam!  If you’re looking for some cute ideas for a family “date night”, we have your roundup!

Book Something Creative

  • Painting with a Twist | Check out their events where you get to paint your own creation.  Most are ages 6+
  • Upstairs Circus ATX | With more than 25 DIY Projects to choose from, Upstairs Circus is a bar and creative space where you can create things like distressed wood art and beautiful bracelets.  While they don’t specifically cater to kids, all ages are welcome with an accompanying adult and kids can pick their own project to create.  Reservations are recommended and you can book yours here.
  • The Art Garage Austin | With tons of options for folks of all ages, The Art Garage Austin also has a walk-in option where you can paint your own pottery, fuse glass, or make mosaics.  This makes it easy to do something creative on your own time and make a day out of it with brunch with the kids and a trip to Art Garage afterward!

Dinner in and family game night
Check out our favorite places to order from and have a family game night!  Cards Against Humanity Family will have you rolling with laughter and you can pick yours up at your local Barnes and Noble or Target.

See a show
With so many family-friendly shows this winter in Austin, we think this is a great way to spend time together as a family.  A few shows we’re looking forward to are:

— See some family-friendly live music

— Head to a kid-friendly spot for dinner

If you need a night off from cooking and doing dishes, we have lots of roundups for where to dine out with the family.  Check out:

Drive-in Movies
You can head to Blue Starlite most evenings for an awesome drive-in experience. Blue Starlite has snacks and drinks, and you’ll stay cozy and warm in your car on cold nights.
