Do you have a budding young fashion designer in your family? The Austin School of Fashion Design offers a very exciting summer program for ages 7-14 in both Central Austin and Georgetown, TX. The ASFD Sewing Summer Camp is a week long day camp where all beginners are welcome. In this Sewing Summer Camp, kids can improve their skills and express their creativity!
Here’s what kids will learn:
Fashion illustration: Students will learn about all of the basic principles of fashion illustration, vocabulary, proportion, clothing, coloring and the fun stuff that real designers do!
Learn how to sew: Kids will get an introduction to sewing, learning safety practices and sewing machine basics.
How to make backpacks & more: Kids will get started with creating their own ASFD Signature Backpack. ASFD signature projects also include a cell phone pocket, a wallet, pencil case, face mask, stuffed monster, an apron and bandana skirt! Advanced level students will create wearable projects such as: a gathered skirt, 3 tier skirt, summer dresses, romper, pajamas, sun dresses and much more!
All supplies, tools and access to Bernina sewing machines are included, so there is no need to buy additional materials. Camps run Monday – Friday from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
