Austin Parks and Pools: West Enfield Park

Just on the edge of Tarrytown, adjacent to Mopac, West Enfield Park is surprisingly peaceful. When you’re in it, it’s fairly easy to block out the road noise.  It may not be the prettiest of the neighborhood parks, but it’s got a lot to offer with its wide open spaces, large pool, tennis and sport court, ball field and playscape/swings.

Austin Parks and Pools: Shipe Park

Shipe Park has a lot to offer a family, especially if you have multiple children. There’s a wading pool, a regular pool, tennis courts, a basketball court, a playscape, a covered spot with a Foosball table and an open area to run around in. There are several places to grab lunch before or after in the neighborhood. Plus, it has an amazing mural.

Austin Parks and Pools: Reed Park

This is a sweet spot, tucked in the rolling hills of Tarrytown. It’s a quiet neighborhood with lots of families, your little ones are bound to make a friend or two. Besides the park and the pool, there is also a hiking trail and an open area where you can play Frisbee, throw a ball around or just let the kids run free!

Austin’s Secret Beach

NOTE: You are not allowed to swim or tube in this area of the Colorado River.

Secret Beach is down a dirt path and hidden behind some bushes. Pretty vague, right? Don’t worry, we’ve got your back with a step-by-step to help you find this secluded location. It’s shallow, it’s sandy, and it almost always has water; making it a perfect spot for younger kids to play.

Secret Beach is located inside Roy G. Guerrero Park (map). Take E. Riverside to Grove Blvd., go all the way to the end, and you will find yourself in a parking lot, facing a trail.
