Whatcha gonna do with your extra day off this weekend?  Maybe you’re craving a day at home, and the opposite of your early morning rush.  But if you’re itching to get out of the house at any point in your day, we’ve rounded out some local ideas for how to spend your Labor Day Weekend.

What To Do Over Labor Day Weekend:

Check out a hot air balloon festival. Take a little ride down to Kyle, the Pie Capital of Texas, this Friday, September 1, and Saturday, September 2 for the Kyle Pie in the Sky Day Celebration.  This event is free to get in and offers entertainment for the whole family including live music, a kids’ play area, a vendor market, and tethered hot-air balloon rides (on Saturday), as well as lots of pie-related events.  Please note: Tethered hot air balloon rides and vendors at the market will charge independently. Check here for the full itinerary and more info.

Enjoy a free outdoor concert. The City of Round Rock is hosting a free Labor Day Concert at Prete Plaza in downtown Round Rock on Sunday, September 3 featuring Soralia spinning family-friendly jams beginning at 6:30 pm.  Stick around for blues with Belltower from 6:30 – 7:30 pm, and Classic Hiphop Live from 8 pm – 9 pm.  Don’t forget your blankets and lawn chairs and get more info here.

Try a new yoga class. Labor Day in Austin means it’s time for the annual Free Day of Yoga! Each participating studio has its reservation process and amenities, so please check the individual studio’s website to know what to bring.  All classes on Free Day of Yoga are free, but RSVP may be required.  You can get more info on sponsors, participating studios, and schedules here.  Also, check out the Yoga schedule for Free Day of Yoga at Waterlook Greenway.
