Looking for ways to make the most of Labor Day weekend with your crew? From racing at COTA and an outdoor movie to Bat Fest, free museum fun, kids yoga, live music and the Thinkery Carnival, Austin has plenty happening over the long weekend. What To Do Over Labor Day Weekend:
Try a new yoga class. Labor Day in Austin means it’s time for the annual Free Day of Yoga! Each participating studio has its own reservation process and amenities, so please check the individual studio’s website to know what to bring. All classes on Free Day of Yoga are free, but an RSVP may be required. You can get more info on sponsors, participating studios, and schedules here.
Browse, Eat and Play at Barton Fest at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa on Sunday, Sept. 6. This open-air festival features live music, local makers, interactive activities and gourmet bites from 5–8 p.m. The event is open to the public, with food available for purchase.
Make a Splash with The Petty Players at Beachside Billy’s and Volente Beach on Sunday, Sept. 6. Enjoy water park fun after 4 pm, waterfront dining and a sunset performance featuring plenty of Tom Petty favorites. General admission starts at $10, with an all-day water park upgrade available.
Step Right Up for the Thinkery Carnival on Monday, Sept. 7. The museum is transforming into a carnival of curiosity with a petting zoo, face painting, aerial performances, spin art, classic carnival games and more. The fun runs from 10 am – 5 pm and is included with admission.

Go on a last-minute camping trip. Take a tour of outdoor art. From amazing murals to giant sculptures, Austin has a beautiful assortment of public art that you can enjoy.
